Sol Collective in Sacramento, CA had a show 121116 to raise funds to go towards the purchase of the building they currently reside. One of the artist performing that night, James Cavern put this night together. A lot of folk came out and a lot of talent was displayed on stage. I got there while The Philharmonik was doing his thing with his keyboard bouncing all over the stand, rappin, singin, playing keys, and pushing play to start his songs because he produced and made the beats to every damn song he performed! He was on stage more than a few times with different artists and complimented each song he collaborated on. I’ve listened to a bit of his music over time and it varies in styles that are current, samples, stuff that sounds sampled but it’s not. He’s gonna have a busy 2017.
Dlrn at Sol Collective 121116. I think this is my first time seeing them with live drums. The third song I think, got my attention. The drummer was banging on the ride, and musically and sonically, the sound was complete. The sound guy was on point tonight by the way. It was a good night of inspiring musicians and poets and people working to keep Sol Collective operating in its current location and to soon take ownership of it.
