Norma Jean always brings it. This isnt the best venue in town but bands do their thing and it works out. I have seen Papa Roach, Neurosis, Soulfly, Training for Utopia, Kid Rock, Incubus, Staind, Killswitch Engage, some band Logan Mader was in for a bit after he left Machinehead, and quite a few local bands play here over the years.
Comrades from Colorado played and they are quite energetic, all three of them! They actually just hit Sac again recently in June.
There was another band, and I dont remember who it was! Here are some shots of Norma Jean below. Oh wait, He Is Legend! There was another band though.
Went to Reno and Sparks, NV to check out some casino tanks, the new Scheels Sports Mart that has two 16,000 gallon aquariums, and to see the band Norma Jean at the New Oasis. Scheels is like a one stop mecca for your sports needs. I was there for the tanks. One aquarium houses cold water freshwater fish. I saw some sturgeon that were easily sharks to the kids, I think trout, catfish, and maybe carp, or pike, not sure. The other tank was saltwater. Everything was in there pretty much. The decor I believe was all Living Color. The maintenance folk have a lot of scrubbing to do with they scuba dive in there. Just massive tanks. Its about the size of a bus. The acrylic is maybe 5 inches thick.
I met up with a friend later that afternoon and saw Norma Jean, one of my favorite bands. There are some bands out there whose albums are masterpieces. Their album “O God, The Aftermath”, is one to me. It was an awesome show, and overall good Sunday trip.
